In my part of the states and in my city the ordinances state that you cannot have poultry inside the city limits, noise nusiance levels and 50 feet from the next dwelling. Thanks to Sharon McFarlane who provided some insight to the ordinance I was able to keep my fowl for a longer time because the city must prove that the noise level is above 80 decibles to be considered a noise nusiance and most city's dont have the equipment to determine the noise levels, my house and the chicken coops were farther then the 50 feet regulation, and as far as keeping them outside of the city limit the grandfather clause states that if you bought the land when it was considered outside of city limits then you can still have the fowl as long as you meet the health standards which they will try to get you for any little thing. As long as you keep your fowl clean, keep the pens clean and you dont have evidence of fighting in or around the yard you may be able to keep the birds housed in your home. But the ordinances are very hard to beat unless the judge or your lawyer are very informed and in your favor. The next best thing is to move out into the country side. lol's
